CTWS Certification Exam Registration
The CTWS certification exam costs $99 for first time test takers. If you meet our eligibility requirements, then you may register for the exam.
Payment is accepted via credit card or through Paypal. All orders, including those paid for by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are processed by Paypal.com. Before payment can be processed, you must select which of the following eligibility requirements you meet.
Once you've selected your eligibility requirement and paid for registration, you will immediately be emailed an order receipt.
After your order has been received and processed, you will be emailed your CTWS exam course access information. This will typically happen on the same or next business day.
Upon receipt of your CTWS exam course access information, you have 30 days to take the CTWS exam.
To sit for the CTWS examination, candidates must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
1. Completed, or expect to complete within the next twelve months, a minimum of a BS or BA from an accredited college.
OR
2. Completed a minimum of three years of paid technical writing experience where duties performed are primarily technical writing.
OR
3. Successfully completed a program with special recognition in technical writing, or stand-alone technical writing program. CTS reserves the right to audit and verify any and all eligibility requirements.
Exam candidates must also signify that they have read and agree with the CTS Standards of Conduct.

Please note that CTS may conduct random audits of the qualification options to ensure compliance; fraudulent statements during the registration process may result in loss of the CTWS credential, banning from future administrations of the CTWS exam or civil legal proceedings depending upon the severity of the offense.
