RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist nonprofit public-interest law firm in all aspects of the production of an eighteen-volume series of legal manuals. Major responsibilities will include: copy editing and proofreading; overseeing all appendices; compiling, preparing, and tracking documents at all stages of production; and ensuring use of proper editorial style and Bluebook citation form. Will also assist in dealing with authors, researchers, and typesetters and in the development of electronic media, such as companion websites.
QUALIFICATIONS: Detail-oriented, organized individual, capable of handling multiple tasks and a variety of projects on a deadline. One year of experience in copy editing and proofreading is required; technical or legal editing, such as law review or other legal journal, is preferred. Excellent computer skills (particularly Word, Westlaw, Lexis, Acrobat). Ability to meet deadlines and work without constant supervision. Law degree preferred.
START DATE: Immediately.
