The Angie’s List magazine department is looking for an experienced and versatile staff writer to join our team. We’re a fun, hard-working group with a passion to make our award-winning monthly magazines the best they can be.
To succeed in this position, you must be an energetic, deadline driven journalist who thrives on the challenges of a fast-paced environment. The staff writer will produce national content for our monthly Health magazine.
The ideal candidate will excel at developing both investigative and feature ideas around health related topics, reporting and writing cover and enterprise stories that are well organized, a pleasure to read and award worthy. He or she will also work closely with the Managing and Senior Editors, Art Director and Photo Editor to propose creative photo assignments and outside-the-box info graphics that round out the reporting and tell the whole story.
We’re looking for a writer with at least five years of professional journalism experience — as well as someone who has covered the health care/medical industry and demonstrated a flair for features and personality profiles. An undergraduate degree in journalism, knowledge of Macintosh and the ability to multitask is required. NewsEdit and InCopy skills are a plus.
We offer a creative working environment with a diverse group of talent.
Please send the following items to Kristy Esch, Managing Editor, at jobs@angieslist.com: (No phone calls, please!)
• Cover letter and resume
• Salary history
• Five to 10 of your very best clips
Please note that we will only consider resumes containing a salary history.
